Mishawaka Achieves Record Growth under REA Leadership!
The City of Mishawaka has experienced record growth under the leadership of Mayor Jeff Rea. Rea’s first three years in office have netted the 1st, 3rd, and 4th biggest construction years in the history of the city. That construction has included re-investment in Mishawaka neighborhoods, as well as major new commercial, industrial, and residential projects. 2007 is well ahead of 2006 numbers and should go down as the busiest construction year ever in the city. Among the important projects Mayor Rea has helped bring to our city are:
The new state of the art St. Joseph Regional Medical Center
The WSBT/ Schurz Communications Headquarters
The new Ruth's Chris Steakhouse
The new Heritage Square and Toscanna Park
Riverwalk Townhomes and the Ironworks of Mishawaka project.
Nearly $1 Billion in economic development projects are planned in and around Mishawaka in the near future. Mayor Rea’s experience in Economic Development has helped make sure Mishawaka continues to be a vibrant city.
